West Paris July 15

We all have been wishing for warmer weather and less rain and now all wishes have been granted. Each day for the week the thermometer has been up to nearly a 100 degrees. The weather people are promising the same for the coming week. Over the week end heavy rain fell which gave us some relief and watered the gardens and lawns.

Every where along the roads are orange lilies in full bloom. The daises have come and gone. Black-eyed Susan's will soon follow.

On July 18 at the West Sumner Universalist Church the Rev. Herbert Adams will be the speaker at 11 a.m. He was formally the minister at the West Paris and Norway Unitarian Universalist churches. The organist is Beth Chaffee. A bountiful coffee hour follows. All are welcome.

Beverly and Vince Stevens entertained family for dinner on Sunday; Stacy, Larry, and Dustin.

My twin granddaughters, Carolyn and Catherine Lamb, graduated  with honors from 8th grade at Oxford Hills Grammar School and will attend Oxford Hills School in the fall.

Muffin spends a lot of her time watching the birds on the lawn.Mother starlings and mourning doves are out feeding their babies. They do grow very fast and look about the size of their parents, but run after the larger ones with their beaks open waiting to be fed, so they must be their children.
