The Cross Country Quilters presented the Bethel Library with a quilt they created in memory of Ginny Keniston from the fabrics in her collection. “Ginny was one of the original members of the Quilt Guild and was an active, enthusiastic participant along with being a mentor to many and remains in all our hearts as a very special person,” said member Pat McCartney. “This sampler quilt pattern was a favorite of Ginny.” The group donated the quilt for the Children's Section to comfort children who are there to read or be read to. A fund set up from donations has been used to purchase books for the library to honor Ginny's devotion and service. The books will be an annual event. Donations for the fund will be ongoing. Anyone wishing to contribute may do so at the library or with The Cross Country Quilters, who meet every Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the Moses Mason Barn. The group pictured here includes Martha Bangs (Ginny's daughter), Pat McCartney, Dawn Giroux, Diane Smith, Edleen Winslow, Shireen Vincent, Arlene Gauthier, Carol Nielsen, Jan Hale, Barbara Honkala, Jo-Ann Korhonen, Debbie Hayes, Lucy Nordahl, Mabel Kennett, Kathy Thrall, Marlene Engdahl, Ginger Kelly, Jackie Van Leuven, Michele Conroy, June Abbott, Karen Bean.
