The 50th annual – and now two-day – Mollyockett Days drew a large crowd to Bethel. After Sunday morning’s road races concluded, the youngest runners – and crawlers – took to the Common for the first annual Diaper Dash and Diaper Derby. Here, toddlers, coached by their moms, circle the Common in the derby. Robin Zinchuk of festival organizer Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce said, “Saturday was huge. Sunday was a different crowd.” Despite smaller crowds on Sunday, she said, many vendors on the common did a good business. Overall, she said, “It was a tremendous success. We’re poised to do it next year.” Saturday’s sweltering heat and humidity was followed by a cooler, drier day on Sunday.
