Gilead July 29
This past week just seems to have flown right by, and it is time to write the column for The Citizen again.
Hugh and I have been picking cucumbers from our little garden. The tomatoes are getting bigger each day. Can’t wait!
My brother, Steve McLain, brought us some items from his garden this past weekend.
Hugh went up to Wild River this past week to check on what was happening at the old bridge. The crew has begun working on removal of the deck and the section on the East end has been taken down.
Aline Dupont sent me an e-mail to let me know that she took her father, Gerard Dupont, to Mr. Pizza for lunch on Saturday, July 24.
Michael and Jean Stowell from Florida enjoyed a nice dinner with Jennifer Stowell Norris and Aline Dupont at Jennifer’s home last Wednesday night.
Alicia McLean, Gilead’s Administrative Assistant, is looking for a few plants for the front of the Town Office. She would like some perennials that will not grow too tall.
Planning Board
This is a reminder that a Public Meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall to discuss draft changes to the Floodplain Management Ordinance. An update to the state-provided 2005 ordinance is necessary to permit the town to join the National Flood Insurance Program.
