Upton Aug. 5

Pete Eames graded Back Street and Kenny Gibbons rock-raked it – I assume Barnes Road was also done, but I can't verify that because I haven't been off the mountain for a few days.

Bobby Thompson and I shared the "foreman" position while Bob Brown and Joe Bernier put steel on Joe's roof. It was incredibly hard work, but someone had to do it.

Only sixteen more days until Upton's Fun Day/Sesquicentennial celebration! Do you have your float for the parade done? Have you invited all your friends and neighbors and relatives? Great – see you there.

Marcia Sherman was totally surprised at at birthday party held in her honor. Marcia and Jim, from Attleboro, Mass., spend most of their weekends at Paradise Point. Marcia is a member of the Ladies Aid Association. She was so emotional at her surprise party that she cried and said, "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to and being 60 rots." You don't look (or act) a day over 30, though, Marcia.

Have a stupendous week. Selah
