Keiser Industries Scholarship Award 2010 given in memory of Rick Bean
The Keiser Industries Scholarship Fund was developed and is funded by the company and its employees, to be awarded in memory of Richard A. Bean.
Keiser Industries builds custom modular homes and is based in Oxford. Rick, after 10 years with the company, had achieved the position of General Manager at the time of his unexpected death in 2002.
Four $1,500 scholarships were awarded this year and presented by Rick’s friends and company representatives. This year’s recipients were Erica Hutchinson, Mary Matthews’ daughter, who will be continuing her education at the Maine Maritime Academy and will major in Marine Biology; Julliann McGray, daughter of Michelle McGray, and also Andy and Crystal McGray, who will continue her education at Central Maine Community College and will major in Business Management; Ashley St. Pierre, daughter of Rusty and Kathy St. Pierre, who will be attending the University of Maine at Farmington, majoring in Early Childhood Education, and will continue her education in Occupational Therapy also; Jordan Bean, Rick’s son, who was under the Guardianship of Jo-Ann and Tim Korhonen, who will be continuing his education at WyoTech in Laramie, Wyo. He will be majoring in Diesel Hydraulics with a minor in Business Management.
Erica, Julliann and Ashley are all graduates of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Jordan Bean graduated from Gould Academy.
