Waterford
The dog days are upon us and it has been cool in the mornings but hot, hazy and humid in the afternoons. I vote for the mornings and could live without the hot, humid afternoons. But I guess they are good if you want to swim. I have yet to do that this year. Perhaps this week I may venture out.
Thursday, the 11th, at 10 a.m. ACOA (ACA) meets at the Waterford Library on Route 37 across from the commons. All are welcome. FMI call 739-9115.
Saturday, the 14th the Waterford Fairgrounds will host a dance with music by Dirigo Highway Band. Dancing starts at 8 p.m. And the cost is $10 per person. On Sunday, the 15th there will be a tenacious barbecue for all the volunteers who helped make the fair a success. That will take place a 2 p.m. Attendees should bring a salad or dessert to share and their own beverage.
Also the Saturday at Fare Share Market in Norway there will be a pie sale fundraiser. All kinds of pies will be available for purchase. It begins at 12 noon. FMI or to donate a pie call 743-9044.
Happy Birthday this week for Madison Hart. She is 6 and ready for First Grade.
Hard to believe it but school starts in a few short weeks. That means all you young people have but two weeks to finish playing and get ready to settle down for school.
That is all for this week. Enjoy the rest of summer.
