It sure has turned cold in the last few days and the “s” word is being mentioned. I'd prefer it would wait a while.

Jennifer Shaw Huard told me that their son Frost will be celebrating his first birthday this Saturday, Nov. 10. Happy Birthday, Frost, from the whole neighborhood!

Alder River Grange held a regular meeting on Oct. 10 with eight members present. There will be a turkey supper on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. and all v eterans will have a free supper.

The Grange will meet on Nov. 9 for a peel party to do the potatoes and the squash. If anyone wants to help, it would be very much appreciated. There will be a 6 p.m. supper and a very short meeting at about 6:30 p.m. and right into the peel party.

Sadly I couldn't come up with much news. Thus, here is the new Trivia question: What did Abiel Chandler report on April 27,1880?
