Derby Snack Shack needs aid

To the Editor:

The West Paris Down Hill Derby is something we should all be proud of!
This is another thing that parents, grandparents and friends can do together as a family and have fun.
This is a small group which work hard to provide the family fun. We have extra cars that anyone can use to try out at any time. The town gives us some money to help out but it is a shame that some just work to ruin things!
The Derby Snack Shack has been broken into two times this year so far. Pepsi has been so good to us to give us a nice cooler to use so we can keep sodas there and not carry them back and forth. We lock the door (which is a shame to have to do in our small town) and they broke the door knob off. Then a padlock and new doorknob was installed. They broke both of them. They were thirsty. They stole about three cases of soda the first time and now they have taken at least three more cases.
We have picnic tables with canopys over them that are there to use but they have to keep putting them out on the derby track. This put marks on the track and will eventually ruin it.

If anyone knows about this, please let the Town Office know or call if you would like to donate any sodas to replace those that were stolen. It would be greatly appreciated. Diet Pepsi isn't needed. They don't like that.

Next race is Aug. 22. Come on over! Sign-up begins at 10 a.m.
