Thanks for Restraining Yourself"

   Sonia and I appreciate the Sept. 2 article by Alison Aloisio.  As we walk the streets here in Bethel and any other public place or country path, we are ever vigilant to stray, loose dogs. We so appreciate people respecting the fact that Sonia is working and my eyes - and resisting the urge to pat her. She is pretty cute!

   Please be aware that the replacement cost of a seeing eye dog is enormous. It includes breeding, puppy-raising, training, partnering and follow-up for her lifetime by her guide-dog school. But then, what price vision?

   Please help us to appropriately and successfully navigate my beloved Bethel and State of Maine. Keep Sonia healthy and safe by leashing your pet dogs.
