Fantastic Food Frenzy
We invite the community to the The Fantastic Food Frenzy, a dinner and exhibition, this Friday, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Telstar gymnasium. This exhibition will feature a display of learning from the “G.O.T. Farms?” group at Telstar, as well as displays from six other western Maine educational gardens. The dinner is free and will be prepared by volunteers and students with foods grown in each of the participating gardens. We are all proud to share our harvest and our experiences learning to grow, preserve, and prepare healthy food.
This event is possible because of the efforts and generosity of many people. Last winter the “G.O.T. Farms?” students began selecting seeds, then prepared raised beds, planted the seeds and plants and tended them. During the summer, many Bethel area businesses and individuals volunteered their time to tend the garden and harvest produce. The students learned about cooking foods from the garden with the ultimate goal of supplying healthy foods the school population.
We thank everyone who has been involved in making The Fantastic Food Frenzy possible. Come out and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by students and volunteers, and see some of the awesome garden projects students are doing.
