The library is closed for the season. If you would like to visit it this fall, you can call me and we'll make arrangements to meet there.
Robert J. Romano, Jr., in his book "Shadows in the Stream," wrote "Moose, the awkward royalty of backwoods and swamp, also remains as young Henry (David Thoreau) found them in 1846 ' ... God's own horses, poor timid creatures that will run fast enough as soon as they smell you, though they are nine feet high.'" I have other descriptions of moose in my mind when we have a near collision with them, but when they're strutting through the field they do indeed look and act as if they were royalty.
We're "babysitting" a cat and a puppy -- it's been wild. Other than that and the wind that's been whipping around today, all is quiet in Upton -- as far as I know.
Have a wonderful week. Selah
