Pearl M. Anderson
Pearl (Irene) Metcalf Anderson, 88, a resident of Market Square Health Care Center, South Paris, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010.
She was born in Farmington on Feb. 22, 1922 the only child of Perley and Ethel Murray Metcalf. She attended Farmington schools and Westbrook Junior College. She was employed as a secretary in the Portland Shipyard when she met W. Elliot Anderson and they were married on Dec. 1, 1944.
Pearl’s love of music led her to participate in area Minstral shows for many years. She was a long-time member of the “Christmas In A Small Town” productions led by Dan Allen. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris.
Survivors include a second cousin, Andrea Keirstead of Farmington; a sister-in-law Ginny Miller of Westbrook; a step-daughter, Barbara Young of Bethel; a step-granddaughter, Anita Remington of Bethel; several other step-grandchildren and their families; and her special friend, Bertha Bonney. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband Elliot on July 21, 1986.

Family and friends may attend visiting hours on Thursday, Sept. 23, 5 to 8 p.m. at Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Private interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the First Congregational Church, 17 E. Main Street, South Paris, Maine 04281.
