Autumn Ride for Autism
Autumn Ride for Autism on Oct. 3rd
To the Editor:
First, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Tabaitha Steward, the Maine State Representative for Unlocking Autism which is a nonprofit organization and I'm also a mother of a child who has autism.
My letter I'm writing is to inform everyone in Maine of this great event we are having to raise money for families of Maine to help in any way we can, whether it is to help guide them to find services, or to help them with therapies they'd like to try and can't find money to do them. This event is a benefit motorcycle ride. It's called "Autumn Ride for Autism" and it starts at LA Harley and goes to Mt. Blue and back to LA Harley. This event is Oct. 3 and you can register to ride at 8 a.m. Riders and bus leaves at 9 a.m. There's going to be a bus provided by SAD 43 to let our children with autism participate in the ride. There is also going to be a band and food after the ride.
If you have a child with autism, you know how hard it is for us as parents to get people to understand them. So please bring your child with ASD and let their voices be heard in a way that everyone will remember. If you don't have a child with autism, most likely you know someone who does, since Maine ranks 2nd to the highest in the nation with ASD rates. Please come and support the children in our state. They need all of the faith, love and hope we can give them and as a mom and a citizen of Maine, I know our state has the most loving and helping hands for all things, especially children.
I'm so proud to be a part of this event and my dream of this wouldn't have come true if it wasn't for the support and love for our children. Thank you LA Harley and United Bikers of Maine Oxford Chapter for all you have put into this to make my dream come true. If you need any information on this great event, please contact me or go to www.unlockingautism-me.org.
