Breakfast and socializing were both great at the Ladies Aid last Sunday. Thank you Ladies for providing an opportunity for people to gather in a friendly, casual setting to enjoy each others company and a tasty inexpensive meal. The Ladies Aid will host a dinner Saturday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. The dinner will feature German foods and desserts.

This year, Charlie and Carol's annual Winter Fun Day will be Sunday, Feb. 17, starting at 2 p.m.

The State Line Snowmobile Club is scheduled to meet Saturday, Feb. 9, 9 a.m. at the Upton House.

The Letter B Notch Riders will have their first meeting of 2013 Sunday, March 10, 9 a.m. at the Upton House.

Upton Planning Board will meet Friday, Feb. 22, in the town office.

During a recent conversation, an acquaintance said that he thinks that the moose population is declining. At first I was skeptical, but after I thought about it, I agree that I see less moose every year.

The roadside bogs do not seem as popular as they were. It may be that there are less moose or it may be that they have changed their habits and stay away from the roadside bogs.
