The Feeding Friendzy

As someone who appreciated the Feeding Friendzy and what Wendy was trying to do, I must say that she was always working the plan. Every week there would be improvements, she had a list she was working from and as she could afford each improvement she in good faith made the improvements. When the state did not feel her cooking hood was up to standard, she stopped cooking on the stove top and covered it over, as the new hood was way beyond her budget. One request that had been made was to separate the back entrance from the store and the apartment.She hired someone local to do it and it was done quite well.

I miss being able to go in for baked goods, lunch or take out. I do believe every effort was made by Wendy Bertrand to fulfill her obligation under the various and confusing state and local ordinances.

Woodstock needed her business, and her business might have drawn more business to the town. I know that the guests at the lake houses appreciated her baked goods and many people from town frequented her store.

All the work on the store was done trying to keep the historical flavor of the business, and many of the windows that were replaced were replaced with wavy or old-fashioned glass. She may have been under-capitalized, but she should have had the town’s support.
