Hugh and I made a trip to the Peabody Cemetery this past weekend to gather some information off from some of the stones. I was doing some genealogy for a descendent of the Coffin family, who does not live in the area. We noticed that the leaves were quite pretty along Route 2 and that the construction crew seems to be making progress.
Mary Tyler had a visit from a Sharp-shinned Hawk recently. Then this past weekend, there was a juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk hanging around for about an hour out in the backyard.
My brother, Steve McLain, stopped by Saturday after going to the Transfer Station. He was looking forward to having a long weekend with the Monday holiday.
Lise McLain picked up her father, Gerard Dupont, at Ledgeview and took him to his doctor's appointment in Gorham, N.H. They stopped for lunch at Mr. Pizza on their way home.
Gilead Fire Department
The GFD attended Fryeburg Fair last week. They brought home a trophy for the Fireman's Muster Third Place Mystery. Those attending were Fabian and Sheri Corriveau, Richard and Sue Saunders, Randy Grondin and his daughter, Shaynah. They missed Second Place by 1/10th of a second. The trophy is on display at the Town Office along with the two that they brought back from Andover Olde Home Days for the Fire Muster Mystery and Fire Muster Dry Hose Event.
