Last Tuesday 22 people took advantage of the free community lunch put on by the People in Action Committee at the CEB dining room. The next community lunch will be March 19 and the menu will be quiche, tossed salad, rolls or biscuits.

Town Hall renovations done by a group of community minded volunteers are proceeding. Renovations have been made to the kitchen, dining room, and old selectman’s office. A door has been replaced which leads into the dining room. The group is currently planning what to do with the entrance hallway. One of the considerations is what to do with the plaster walls that need repair.

Absentee Ballots for the March 19 election of town officials are now available at the Town Office. Town meeting is March 16 with elections the following Tuesday. If you have not yet registered your dog, there is a $25 late fee and as usual you will need to bring proof of spaying or neutering when you register the animal.

The Andover Service Circle will be sponsoring a luncheon on Town Meeting day downstairs in the dining room. The menu is soups, etc.

The Knights of Pythias met on Monday evening at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall. This is a service organization that on Monday night presented a check to the Andover Food Pantry. At the Supreme Convention of the Knights of Pythias monetary gifts to local lodges were made to go toward community service projects. The two longest members of Cabot Lodge 117, Freeman Farrington and Roger Mills, presented a $250 check on Monday evening to Linda Couture, director of the Andover Food Pantry. The pantry is open on Tuesdays for 9-10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church. Cabot Lodge was founded on Oct. 22, 1897.

At the annual meeting of the First Congregational Church on Sunday, the date for the annual Birthday Supper was set for April 27. This event has been going on since 1938 and was originally held in the Town Hall. Each table is decorated for a month of the year and dessert is birthday cake.
