Gilead

The month of February is moving right along and school vacation is upon us this week. My vacation started early since I have been sick for the past couple of weeks.

My brother, Steve McLain, went to Bethel last weekend and stopped to visit with the Responsible Pet Care representatives that were set up at a local business. They were trying to make people aware of what Responsible Pet Care does and were taking donations to help with the care of the animals that they are trying to help. They are a no-kill shelter and adoption center for cats and dogs. There was a cute picture in last week’s Citizen of a pair of cats waiting for a home. Contact information was given as (207) 743-8679 for anyone who would like to adopt or help out in some way.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to our son, Chris, who is celebrating a birthday on Feb. 21st.

Lise McLain attended the Senior Club dinner at the Black Diamond restaurant at Sunday River on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The Senior Club is fifty (50) years old this year.

Steve and Lise McLain want to wish their daughter-in-law Peachy McLain a Happy Birthday on Feb. 11.

This column is short and sweet, due to not feeling well and still trying to keep up with end of the year bookwork for the Town of Gilead. Things need to get done and ready for the Annual Town Report and Annual Town Meeting in March.
