This past week just kind of flew by and I can already update you again on some of what happened in East Bethel.
I am sure you all remember the power outage last Friday. Claire Piawlock called me to give me some details on this. The strong winds and heavy rain toppled three trees in her yard. Thus a large area of East Bethel was out off power. It sounds to me like CMP needs to come around and do some more of the preventative cutting. Now I will fill you in on what some folks did and then go on to the really happy events.
Aline Dupont took her dad to Crosstone's for dinner on Sunday and they enjoyed the dinner and time together. Aline was also helping her son Jarrod with his re-election campaign to the House of Representatives. She also let me know that his wife, Paige, is a great campaign manager for him. Aline will be at the Republican Campaign Headquarters in Bethel to help. Bettyann Hastings worked at the Republican Booth at the Fryeburg Fair on Sunday.
Now we need to get our party hats on. On Oct. 16 Echoo Corliss celebrated her birthday. Belated Happy Birthday from the whole neighborhood. We can also welcome the newest member to East Bethel! On Oct. 14 around 8 a.m. weighing 7 pounds Quinn joined her parents Bekka Howe and Jason Coolidge, and her big brother Kimball. Best wishes to the happy parents, brother, and grandparents from all of us.
Alder River Grange will have a turkey supper on Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. There will be turkey and all the fixings. The price is $7 for adults and $3 for under 12. Veterans will get a free turkey supper.
Well, now, here is the answer to the last Trivia: The Middle Intervale Meeting House Society was founded in 1979 to govern and maintain the Town's oldest surviving meeting house. I have my next Trivia question ready,so make sure you check for it again and then reply by either calling 824-3220 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here's also another quote and would appreciate your input about one and all. This time I liked the quote from Leo Burke,a baseball player,"People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one." Now that's more food for thought to ponder till next week.
Enjoy this fall.
