From seeds to pizza, Local Hub has it all

Located on Route 26 in Locke’s Mills at the former Round Pond Corner Store, The Local Hub is truly unique.
From heirloom and organic seeds and composters to local, farm-fresh dairy and brick oven pizza, The Local Hub has a little bit of everything.
Owners Nick and Janet Bartlett describe the store not as the result of a long-time dream, but rather a natural progression. After establishing their own farm several years ago, they began helping others who were looking to grow their own food by stocking and selling growing supplies.
Nick and Janet quickly discovered that the demand for these supplies extended beyond farmers to others who were interested in growing their own food.
“The store seemed like a good next step,” said Janet.
Nick and Janet are strongly committed to the local aspect of their business. They offer a variety of snacks, homemade canned goods, freshly baked breads, and fresh fruits and vegetables, the majority of which are made and grown right here in Maine.
They are looking forward to warmer weather when more local growers will have fresh fruits and vegetables to add to their stock.
In addition to food items, The Local Hub offers all of the growing supplies necessary to start or maintain a garden as well as food prep and cooking tools.
“We have everything you need to get you from the seed to the table,” Nick said, and customers can be certain that The Local Hub stands behind what they sell. “Almost everything we carry, weuse ourselves and personally endorse,” Janet said.
The Hub is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The kitchen is still under construction, but Nick and Janet are looking forward to opening it soon and expanding their menu.
Brick oven pizza is currently available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
