THANKS FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT

Thank you Bethel community for the varied opportunities to be entertained, informed and inspired through the arts. Just in the past 30 days, “In the Blood,” a multimedia performance portrayed the sweat and grit of Maine lumbermen; the show hanging this month at Artistic Endeavors Art Gallery features Francoise Lagoutte Fetchko, whose paintings capture the essence of our backyard chickadee and splendid scenery we live amongst; inaugural poet, Richard Blanco’s recent poetry reading mirrors back to us the strength and beauty of our community; the recent WinterFest Railways Jam rocked as the artistic pretzel, chillax, hip, hop, ride, slide, glide lyrical sports casting of Nate Clukey announced the boarders and skiers getting “nasty” off the Snowcano. Bravo to Bethel for supporting, encouraging, and participating in the arts – film, painting, poetry, engineering a Snowcano, designing trail systems, talented athleticism, providing good music, good food, good fun … all creative endeavor which enrich our lives.

Author Yann Martel, writes in his book “Life of Pi,” – “If we, citizens, do not support our artist, then we sacrifice our imagination on the altar of crude reality and we end up believing in nothing and having worthless dreams.”
