On our return trip from Auburn on Monday Bobby, Penny and I stopped in at the Red Rooster for lunch. Thank you one “L” M'ichele for the great food and service.
Penny's “official” record keeping shows 114 inches of snow so far this year. More than a fourth, (30 inches) occurred in the week and a half between Feb. 22 and March 4. Harvey is quite adamant that I should stop my snow dance. I didn't dare to tell Harvey that March is quite often our big snow month!
This past weekend Upton House hosted the wedding party for Breanne Gagnon, daughter of Rebecca and Norman Gagnon of Rumford, and Matthew Duguay, son of Penny and Steven Duguay of Byron. The couple was married on the ice of Umbagog in a cove across from Camp Mildred. The ceremony was attended by about forty family members and friends who came from as far away as Florida and California, their two dogs, Tobbie and Jack, a few deer. The ceremony was honored by a fly-over from our national bird. Samantha Aylward officiated at the ceremony. Artic Cat, Ski-doo, Polaris, and Yamaha provided the limo-shuttling. The Duguays will reside in the former Gagnon family home which had been purchased by the groom in 2008 prior to ever having met the bride. (It was fate.)
