For the last 43 years, the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce has organized a “gala” awards event to recognize community and business excellence. We look to the members of our communities to nominate those who they consider outstanding in their respective fields and deserving of recognition. Nominations must be submitted by April 2 and can either be sent to the chamber at P.O. Box 1247, Bethel, ME 04217, delivered to our office, or e-mailed to email@example.com.
The chamber has added many new categories since the “original three” – which were Business of the Year, the Henry H. Hastings Award for Citizenship, and the Lifetime Achievement Award. We continue to provide recognition in these categories but have added the following awards: Bethel Area Non-Profit Leadership Award, Forest Products Industry Award, Public Service Award (typically goes to someone working in municipal governments or committees), Rising Star Entrepreneur Award, Rocky Freda Memorial Award, and four Employee of the Year Awards: Ski Industry, Service and Retail, Education and Hospitality (these should be nominated by their respective employers). We also present two Citizenship awards to high school seniors who are chosen by the staff of Telstar High School.
The Awards Dinner and Celebration is scheduled for Friday, May 3, to be held at the Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River Resort. The chamber is accepting reservations by calling 824-2282. A complete delicious buffet dinner with all the festivities is $39 per person and $325 for a sponsored table of 8.
We are also seeking donations for our Silent Auction – which has been a terrific addition to the event. Please contact us with your offering! Many thanks to Stephens Memorial Hospital, Northeast Bank, and Oxford Networks for their sponsorship support of this wonderful event! Sponsorship opportunities are still available – give us a call for the details.
Many thanks for taking the time to nominate those who are outstanding in our communities and work places.
