We actually remembered to set our clocks ahead this past weekend. The weather was nice and almost like spring. Most of the snow has melted off the roof and puddles from melting snow are forming at the end of the driveway.
My brother, Steve McLain, was at the house last Saturday. We went over to the town office and he helped me remove the sign on the door that has the hours posted. (more under town news)
Mary Tyler has seen a couple of Starlings at her feeder this past weekend. There has also been a Red-Breasted Nuthatch that has appeared also. She said the other morning she looked out and someone had pulled down her tray feeders. Upon investigating, it appeared to be the fox, who has been traveling around at night. The other day I looked out just as it was getting light and the gray fox was on the front lawn looking back at me.
William and Annie Chapman spent this past weekend with their Dad, Michele, Ajay and Sidney in Gorham, N.H. William is getting so tall that he is now taller than me. Annie told us that she had an art project (self portrait) picked for an exhibition at the Saco Museum of Art. The Saco Museum presents an art show with artwork produced by students in their public schools. This is done in conjunction with National Youth Art Month, Celebrate Student Art.
Bob and Judy Bishop called last Saturday to check in with a few things regarding the Gilead Historical Society and to see what was happening in Gilead.
Lise McLain sent the following e-mail on what has been happening lately with the McLains:

They have had her since she was seven (7) weeks old, and she has been ill for about one and half years, and gets her meds and supplements every day. She will always have a loving home until the day she dies, and will never be abandoned whereby she has responsible parents who love and care for her. Isis was named after the Egyptian Goddess. Happy birthday, Isis!
Lise McLain, who is a thoroughbred racing fan, sends birthday wishes to Zenyatta's first foal, a colt, who has a 1st birthday on March 8. The colt has not been named as yet.”
The Annual Town Meeting will be held on March 30 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. The Town Report is almost finished and will be available within the next week.
As far as office hours go, the Town Clerk/Treasurer and the Deputy Tax Collector will be in the office on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Since the Tax Collector resigned, there will be no opportunity to re-register motor vehicles until April. Any vehicle registrations can be done at the Greenwood Town Office or on line with Rapid Renewal. https://www1.maine.gov/online/bmv/rapid-renewal/
Many thanks go out to the staff of the Greenwood Town Office for their patience and kindness in helping us through yet another bump in the road toward being able to register motor vehicles.
