TOWN OFFICE OPTIONS
The Town of Greenwood is looking at building a new town office. However, if you had mold in your basement would you just vacate your home or would you try some measures to re-mediate the mold?
There are many options that can be evaluated. One option is to get rid of the basement, fill it in, and cap it off. The boiler room is not in the basement. The dry rot in the support beams can be corrected by installing a channel iron on either side of the wood beam and bolting through.
My house is close to one-hundred years old and I would not abandon it because of a few maintenance items. Town officials just want a new office space, and I would like a new house, but the taxpayers are not going to pay for it. During a time where much of the talk is about municipalities merging, it is not the time for a new building.
