Ken and I have been to Washington D.C., where we, and granddaughter Mary Beth Hoover, attended the graduation of Maggie Hoyt from Gallaudet University. Also attending were her dad, James and Charlene Hoyt, Crystal Cash, and baby Shawn. It was a nice graduation with a cookout at the girls’ apartment following.
Services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15, Morning Worship at 10:30, Evening Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at 6:30 is Mid-Week Service. Sunday evening, May 19, Brian Pratt and family, missionaries to India, were present. He preached and they all sang. Mrs. Pratt was a local girl. Tuesday morning, May 21 Coffee Pot Devotion at the parsonage. Remember, July 22 to 26 is going to be Vacation Bible School, 6 to 8 p.m. nightly.
The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens will meet on Thursday, June 6, at Kowloon Village Restaurant in Bethel at 11:30 a.m.
Franklin Grange 124 will meet on Monday, June 3, for a regular meeting and election of officers. It starts at 7 p.m.
The Woodstock Historical Society will meet on Saturday, June 8, at the museum at 6 p.m. for a meeting. Program is Wayne Howe talking about Railroads in Woodstock. Refreshments to follow the meeting.
The Woodstock High School Alumni banquet will be Saturday, June 15; at the American Legion Hall in Locke’s Mills at 5:30 p.m. Classes of 1943, 1953, and 1963 will be honored as well as seniors from Telstar High School from Woodstock and Greenwood.
