Martha Fives McLean of Rowe Hill Road, Greenwood, graduated on May 18, from the University of Maine, School of Law, receiving the J.D. degree. She was chosen by her classmates to deliver the student address at the commencement exercises. Attending the ceremony were her husband, Jasper Kruse; her children, Emma and Max; her parents, Jim and Rosemary McLean; as well as several friends. Martha intends to practice law in the Norway/Paris area.
Franklin Grange 124 met on Monday evening for a regular meeting and election of officers. Deputy James Haines presented Richard Felt with his 75 year certificate. Election of officers was held. On Saturday, July 27, from 2 to 5 p.m., will be an instructional meeting. Next Grange meeting, June 17, will be CWA night with a supper at 6 p.m. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
Services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15, Morning Worship at 10:30, Evening Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at 6:30 is Mid-Week Service. Vacation Bible School is July 22 through 26, 6 to 8 p.m. nightly.
The Woodstock High School Alumni Banquet will be Saturday night, June 15, at the Legion Hall in Locke’s Mills. Time: 5:30 p.m. Special guests: classes of 1943, 1953, 1963, and Telstar Seniors from Greenwood and Woodstock.
There will be no program at Whitman Memorial Library in June.
The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens met at the Kowloon Village Chinese restaurant on Thursday, June 6. The next meeting will be at the Grange Hall in Bryant Pond on July 11, and dinner will be put on by the Grange. The program is a silent auction.
