Judith Grover Tent 17 DUVCW met on Monday, July 8 at the Grange Hall with seven members and one guest. Michelle Cary acted as president in the absence of Vicky Myers. Communications from A.J. Cary, a thank you for her graduation gift and from 4 Paws 4 Patriots for a donation. Decided to look into this organization before donating. Larry Bonney from the Sons of Union Veterans Joshua Chamberlain Camp 69, Norway, presented the tent with a $500 grant from the National Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War for the extension to the Veterans’ monument. This was very much appreciated. All donations are very much appreciated. We received a $50 donation also and with these, it puts us over $5,000 toward getting the names engraved on the extension. Next meeting, Aug. 12, will be a picnic, meeting and flag burning ceremony. Supper at 5:30. Please bring a salad, sandwiches or desserts to share. Drinks will be provided. Services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15, Morning Worship at 10:30, Evening Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at 6:30 is Mid-Week Service. The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens met on Thursday, July 11 at the Grange Hall. Dinner was put on by the Grange Hall and there was a Silent Auction. Next meeting is Aug. 1, a picnic at Norma Davis’ home. Bring a dish to share. The Bethel Senior Citizens have asked us to join them in a couple of trips. The first one is July 17 to Portland Longfellow House with dinner at Home Town Buffet. The second one is July 26 to a Portland Sea Dogs game and an overnight stay. They also asked us to come to their Aug. 14 meeting at Stony Brook Campground. Bring a salad or something sweet to share.
Franklin Grange 124 will hold an Instruction Day on July 27, 2 to 5 p.m. All granges are invited to attend.
