August is almost over and the children will be going back to school next week. As always, remember to keep an eye out for them at the bus stops and watch for those flashing red lights on the school bus.
My brother, Steve McLain, has been hard at work at the SAD 44 Maintenance Garage getting those busses ready for the beginning of school. He has also been busy at home catching up on some mowing out near Route 2. He likes to keep the area around the Town of Gilead sign mowed.
Lise McLain went to lunch with the Senior Club last week. This month’s meeting was held at Stony Brook Campground.
Last Saturday evening, Hugh and I joined Tim and Michele and the grandchildren, William, Annie and Sidney for a birthday celebration at the Shannon Door Restaurant in Jackson, N.H. The occasion was Sidney’s ninth birthday. Also attending were Michele’s parents, Leo and Ann Croteau and Michele’s uncle, Tom. We had a great meal and lots of fun watching Sidney open her presents.
