Conservative, not racist
I must admit to being absolutely astounded at the letter that Don Chase wrote recently. “Never in my recollection has a twice elected president of this nation been subjected to the degree of negativity and unwarranted petty personal insults as the one that now holds that office.”
Mr. Chase must be kidding or under the age of five years old. Because the only way he could make that statement is for him not to have been taking breath on this earth before then. Has he really forgotten the unending abuse that President Bush took from every liberal, democrat, progressive and worst of all, almost every mainstream media in the country?
President Bush was ridiculed at every possible turn. His talk was ridiculed. His walk was ridiculed. All of his policies, which by the way, most of which are still in place to include the campaign promise of closing Guantanamo Bay Prison. And by the way, President Bush was elected to two terms as well. President Bush did not enjoy the adoration and unending support that President Obama has enjoyed all through his presidency from a media that all but falls over themselves to win his favor.
But enough about President Bush. Democrats have beaten that nonsense to death. The most egregious part of Mr. Chase's letter, however, is the innuendo that we who are proud to be called conservatives, are racists.
Does he mean to really suggest that the president who let “fast and furious” get so out of hand that an American police officer was killed, a president who calls the Fort Hood shooting “workplace violence,” a president who has ignored the death of four Americans in Benghazi, who has ignored an outrageous scandal at the IRS in targeting conservative groups for political reasons on whose watch the NSA is keeping tabs on each and every one of us, continuously failing “green” projects, and a deficit that has skyrocketed out of sight is not the darling of progressives because he is black? And by the way, according to the president, all of these issues are, “phony scandals.”
You can't blame people for who they are. I have, in the past, always believed that the difference between Republicans and Democrats was just a different political philosophy but alas I’ve changed my mind.
How much ineptitude does Mr. Chase need to see to at least question President Obama? No matter what he does or doesn’t do, Democrats will continue to support him at all costs.
As for calling me a racist… Mr. Chase disappoints me and makes me more than just a little angry. If he's looking for racism, he should look to his own party. Does Detroit after 50 years of Democrat control and a minority situation that is sinful give him any pause at all? Or perhaps Chicago where blacks are killing each other left and right? Another town controlled by Democrats.
Democrats should look to themselves and their failed policies when looking for racists. In paraphrase, “The Tea Party is filled with the same 'crackers' who fought the civil rights movement down south with police batons and dogs.” They were Democrats in Selma, not Republicans.
