Well, this week sure went by quick! The weather, again, playing tricks on us. Last week, midweek the humidity and heat had us in its grip and now we are struggling with the thought of turning on the furnace or light the wood stove, even if just to take the chill out. The leaves turning are more and more noticeably every day. Fall has arrived. Thus, let me ask you all, what are your favorite sentiments of this season? Call me at 824-3220 or e-mail email@example.com and let me know.
This week it's time to give the answer to the Trivia, again. I want to give a "heads up" to all the ones who came up with an answer. Several answered "Eva Merrill Deroche” and also “Doris Kimball." I was looking for "Linnie" Abbot. I am under the impression all the answers are correct. This Trivia question sparked a lot of interest, especially from all involved in this profession. I will check into trying to get more of the history and hopefully a write up about this to be published in the Citizen.
The Alder River Grange will host a public supper on Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. at the Hall. This is a Harvest Supper with all the things for a Harvest Supper. Adults will be $8 and children under 12 will remain at $3.
Till next week.
