JOHN T. SPEED
John Thomas Speed, 67, of Woodstock, passed away at his home on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010.
He was born in Boston, Mass., Jan. 12, 1943, the son of John J. and Lillian (O'Donnel) Speed. He was a shift supervisor in the purchasing department at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Athanasius Church in Rumford, attended St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway and was a volunteer at the Oxford Food Pantry.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Speed and Kellie Biggins and her husband William; sisters, Joan Predersen and Mary Gillies; brother, Tom Speed; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church followed by internment at the Maine Veterans' Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oxford Hills Food Pantry.
