The Joy of the Season continues on. It truly is a special time of the year.
Esther Wilson's Christmas gathering was a great success with around 50 members attending. Jackie traveled the greatest distance, coming from Mariaville, Maine. For all the kids they had games and prizes.
Then on Sunday Jackie and Esther went to Peter Bean's for a ham dinner.
Arlene Harrington hosted her family Christmas gathering on Saturday, the 18th, also. Those attending were Mr.and Mrs. Dawson Smith of Surrey, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bean of Bethel, Gloria Crockett of Bethel, Aaron and Robert Crockett of Bethel, Mr.and Mrs. Gary Fuller of Locke Mills, Don and Whitney Hallman of Durham, Mr.and Mrs. Richard Merrill of Andover, Katie and Taylor Merrill of Andover, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Wardwell of Oxford, Meagan Wardwell and a friend of Oxford, and last but not least Josh Wardwell of Oxford.
Paul and Charlotte Kimball attended the gathering at Esther's and also one at Butch and Ann Crockett's.
We also need to extend some belated birthday greetings. On Dec. 18 Eva Coolidge celebrated her 60th birthday! A couple of days prior, my daughter Samantha had her birthday also. Happy Birthday from the neighborhood!.
This week it is also time for the answer to the Trivia. It was the Osgoods who ran a shingle mill on the lot opposite Gunthers. The business died out as fire-proof roofing replaced the combustible variety.
I hope to hear more news about all the family gatherings. So call me, 824-3220 or e-mail email@example.com. You can also find me on Facebook and send me your news that way if you wish.
Did you know that in Germany Christmas is celebrated on Christmas Eve and it is the Christmas Angel who brings the presents? There Santa already makes his rounds on Dec. 6 with the stocking stuffers.
