Things are still quiet in the neighborhood. It must be that everyone is in the grip of the winter weather, staying home to keep the wood stove going and also making sure that the furnace kicks on. Mine didn't recently on one of those cold nights. Luckily the reset button did the trick.
Seven Alder River Grange members braved the weather to attend the meeting at the home of their master, Ruby Bryant, in Norway. They voted to not hold a meeting in February and the next meeting will be held March 11, 2011 at the home of Stan Howe on Broad Street in Bethel. At this meeting they will be discussing changes to by-laws concerning when meetings will be held and at what time.
It is not too late for your answers to the Trivia or any and all information for next week's news. Just call 824-3220 or e-mail email@example.com. No one managed to beat the time of this one "die hard" Trivia lover -- by the time I got up Thursday morning and checked my e-mail a little after 6 a.m I already received his answer again. I will give a little hint. Those of you with computer can check it out online whilst having your first cup of coffee in the morning -- then later on get the paper to read all the detailed news. Several readers also enjoy the quotes, so here is a quote which a reader remembers from his time during Marine Corps Boot Camp, Parris Island, 1969 which was repeated to his platoon quite frequently: "Every day is a Holiday and every meal is a feast." How true, as sometimes we need to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, take every day and our food as a gift to appreciate and be grateful for.
Enjoy your week and stay warm.
