Carlton W. Cole

Mr. Carlton W. Cole, 93, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Ledgeview Nursing Home in West Paris. He was a resident of Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood, Maine, on Nov. 10, 1916, he was a son of Daniel and Bertha “Nettie” (Swan) Cole. He attended Greenwood schools. He worked as a farm hand and as a woodsman for many years and then for EKCO Products until his retirement in May of 1979 as a machine operator.

He was married in Bethel, Maine, on Oct. 23, 1954 to Lenona Roberts who survives of Greenwood. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Debbie Cushing and her husband William of Bethel; two sons, Marvin Cole and his wife Linda of Greenwood, Ronald Cole and his wife Paula of Greenwood; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friends, Joe and Donna Taylor of Gilead. He was predeceased by baby girl Cole; five sisters, Laura Seames, Tina Morgan, Carrie Robinson, Ethlyn Cole, Miss Muriel Cole; one brother,Lester Cole.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Ledgeview and to Dr. Peter Harbage.

Private services will be held at the family’s convenience. Interment will be in the Hicks Cemetery in Greenwood.
