It is Sunday afternoon and it has been raining most of the day. The snow is melting and the puddles beside the road are getting bigger. There is supposed to be some more bad weather coming in on Monday.
My brother, Steve McLain, has had some help from his son, Brad McLain, and Carole Mason with removing snow from the roof of his garage. They wanted to get this done before the rain arrived. Rain would make the snow on the roof heavier, which could be dangerous and cause the roof to collapse.
When Lise McLain visited her father, Gerard Dupont, last week at Ledgeview, she found that he is doing well.
Norm Buttrick, who is a member of the Gilead Historical Society, stopped by last Saturday to pick up the laptop computer that belongs to the GHS. He borrowed it to do a Power Point presentation for a group at Fort Western in Augusta. There was another member of the GHS in the audience, Heidi Munro.
One night last week, Hugh and I heard the coyotes howling across from our house. They hang out in the woods behind the picnic area.
Town meeting will be held at the Town Hall on Saturday, March 26, at 7 p.m. Please remember to arrive early to be checked off the voting list or to register to vote. Please come out and vote because your vote matters.
Congratulations to Joseph Boudreau with his decision to run for selectman. He will be running against Jeremy Morin. Jeremy has been a selectman for a couple of three-year terms now and has been part of several improvements made to the town.
Besides the contest between Joe and Jeremy for selectman, the other office that needs to be filled is a three-year term for a school board member.
