Walter P. Mitchell

Walter P. Mitchell, 72, of West Bethel passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at home with his family by his side.

He was born in Buckfield, Maine, on Dec. 19, 1937, the son of the late Frank Allen Mitchell and Florence Dunn. He was educated in Turner schools.

He owned his own skidders and trucks for a while and then drove for P.H. Chadbourne, Bill Myers, Hadley’s, McKenna, Todd Wheeler and many more. If he was not working he was fishing or hunting and enjoying his family and friends and especially enjoyed Cindy’s homemade doughnuts.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Rhonda Brown Mitchell; three children, Robert Mitchell and wife Cindy; his daughter, Sarah Mitchell; his stepdaughter, Stacey Wheeler and husband Timothy of West Bethel; five grandchildren, Kyle Mitchell, Hannah Wheeler, Racheal Wheeler, Gregory Wheeler and Stephanie Mitchell; a twin sister, Winnifred Bellville of Buckfield; four step grandchildren, Kelsey, Josh, Cortney, Jake Raasumaa; one step great-grandchild, Molly Mae; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth Breffette and June Morin.

Visiting hours will be held at Bethel Church of the Nazarene from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 25, at 3 p.m., at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Chuck Mason officiating.
