North Pond Sailing Association

The 2010 season will be the association’s 38th year on the water. I would like to welcome our skippers and mates. If you know any skippers with a small sailboat, please invite them to join us. I would like to congratulate the 2009 season Sunfish high-point winners: first place Bruce Parker with 863 points, second place Rob Loisel with 779 points and third place Eric Wight with 762 points.

We would like to thank our 2009 hosts and donors, Pete and Joan Seaman, Henry and Pat Stewart and Bruce Parker. The Seamans have offered to store your boats for the 2010 season at their cottage on North Pond. Any skippers who prefer to launch their boats every Sunday off Route 26, please be at the ramp no later than 12:30 p.m. if you need assistance unloading. The annual potluck supper will be held at Rob and Betsey Loisel’s cottage on South Pond (875-2633). The following skippers are looking for used Sunfish: Marcia and Steve Hilton need two Sunfish and they can be reached at 743-7892 or cell (207) 890-1766, Bill Kaplan is looking for one Sunfish and can be reached at 802-229-1851 or 802-371-9287.

This association has a Sunfish fleet, but all small sailboats are welcome. For more information, please call 875-3726. We would like to start a Laser Class, but only one showed up last season.

2010 Regatta Schedule: Sundays, July 11, 18 and 25 at North Pond, Woodstock, at 1 p.m.; Saturday, July 31 South Pond, Greenwood, is a Potluck Supper at 5:30 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 1 at North Pond at 1 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 8 is Awards at North Pond at 1 p.m. (Rain date only is Sunday, Aug. 15 at North Pond).
