Repave the Sunday River Road

To the best of my knowledge the last time any major refurbishing/rebuilding of the Sunday River Road from Route 2 thru to the Newry line was during the summer of 1986. Have any of you tried to drive it recently at the posted speed limit?

We in Newry pay a significant amount of tax to help support the school system and yet take little advantage of the schools, as you all well know. I believe that on a per-head calculation our kids are paying substantially more to attend the school system than the children of residents of Bethel. Perhaps the budget makers of the town of Bethel would be so kind as to take that into consideration when planning highway improvements for 2011.

I’ve noticed substantial improvement to the Intervale Road over the past few years, and I know that the traffic situation there is a very small percentage of that on the Sunday River Road.

Please rebuild the road. It truly needs it. Do not put another one-half-inch coat of tar/sand on it. That is a big waste of money. It will all cost more in 2012 than in 2011, plan on it.
