National Volunteer Week

To the Editor:

National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, celebrates the tremendous importance of volunteers and SCORE to the American economy, our local economy and our way of life.

The working and retired business owners, corporate executives and professionals who volunteer for provide entrepreneurs with free and confidential small business advice. With a wide variety of business skills, years of management experience and local market knowledge, SCORE offers a public service that helps build the economic future of America one small business at a time.

Each year, SCORE volunteers donate nationally more than one million hours to provide small business mentoring and workshop training. SCORE offers face-to-face confidential, free counseling and conducts local workshops on a wide range of business topics. In addition SCORE volunteers do online counseling 24/7 through the SCORE Small Business website.

This year during National Volunteer Week our local SCORE chapter, with its office at 2 Market Square, South Paris, ME 04281, office hours, 9 to noon, MondayFriday, particularly wants to welcome new volunteers, Gerry Nelson of Greenwood, Joseph Balchunas of Sebago, and Richard Johnson of Bryant Pond. They all come with a wealth of experience to share in the many areas SCORE helps clients achieve their dreams.
