Minnie M. Akers
Minnie M. Akers, 89, died Thursday, May 12, 2010, at her residence in Andover, Maine, with her loving family by her side.
She was born July 19, 1920 in Andover, Maine, the daughter of William Clifford and Irma (Cutting) Pawe. Her mother died when she was five years old and she was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Lee and Rena Falkenham throughout her school years in Andover.
She was married in South Paris, Maine, in 1938 to Raymond I. Akers, who died in Andover on June 3, 1974. They lived in Andover and spent time at Roxbury Pond and their Log Cabin. Later, they lived in Crystal Beach, Fla., happily for many winters.
Minnie was a member of the Andover Congregational Church, the Pythian Sisters, and a fifty-year member of the Eastern Star.
She was a beautiful lady who cherished her family and friends and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Swan and husband William of Andover, Maine, Linda Percival and husband John of Andover, Maine, Julia Gribbin and husband Tim of Solebury, Pa., and Andover, Maine, and Florida daughter Linda Creighton; seven granddaughters, Kaye Moren, Karen Swan, Stephanie Percival, Jennifer Mendenhall, Angela Percival, Brigid and Brenna Gribbin; four great-grandchildren, Erica and Jeremy Moren, Carson McKay, Sophia Percival.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Andover Congregational Church, Andover, Maine, with the Rev. Jane Rich officiating. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Andover, Maine.
