Mark Allen Wight
Mark Allen Wight, 52, of Newry, died May 13, 2010 in Norway.
He was born in Rumford on Feb. 4, 1958 the son of Paul W. and Ethelyne (Broomhall) Wight and was educated in Bethel schools graduating from Telstar High School Class of 1976 and attended Unity College studying forestry.
Mark had worked for the State of Maine Parks and Recreation Department for 29 years, retiring as Park Manager II and in 2006 he started Grafton Notch Campground.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and hiking and was a member of the NRA.
Mark is survived by his best friend, Maureen Ginther of Newry; his mother, Ethelyne Broomhall Wight of Arizona; three brothers, Philip “Phil” Wight and Susan Belanger of Rumford, Gary and Gail Wight of Newry and Gerald Broomhall of Locke Mills; two sisters, Paula and Chris Jansmann of Arizona and Cheryl and Mike Jordan of Florida; three nieces, April Jordan, Michelle Loo and Jessie Pratt; one nephew, Justin Wight of Norway; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Paul Wight; and one brother, Lonnie Wight.
Memorial services will be held at Bethel Alliance Church on Tuesday, May 18, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Mason officiating.
