Hello Andover friends. I would like to say to the person(s) responsible for "taking" the wreath that I made and put on the front of my parents store, I hope that you're enjoying it -- obviously it was so beautiful that you wanted it, because I haven't heard of anybody else in town missing a Christmas wreath from their door. Actually, I would like to say more than that,but...
Young Isabella Simmons celebrated her 8th birthday with a party at her dad's house last Sunday. They attempted to go sledding, but after one trip down the hill it was pretty much a dirt hill! Fifteen kids attended and had a fun time -- despite the lack of snow!
Birthday celebrations this week: Ethan M. Nelson, grandson of Marshall and Vicky Meisner, on the 20th, Natausha Cogley on the 22nd, Zachary Morton on the 22nd, Hunter Milliken on the 25th, grandson of Naomi Learned.
The ice skating rink behind the Andover Fire Station is ready for those blades! Thanks to Scott Farrington for his help.
I would like to send sympathy to the friends and family of Nancy Tyler, who passed away last Tuesday, Jan. 11. Nancy moved to Andover from Farmington Falls several years ago with her long-time companion Larry Norton. She is survived by her mother, Ada Tyler of Farmington; her companion since the age of 13, Larry; two sons, Toby Tyler and his wife Melanie of Farmington Falls, and Todd Tyler of Lewiston, and three grandchildren. A celebration of Nancy's life was held on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Chesterville Town Hall. Donations in Nancy's memory may be made to the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care, 361 Old Belgrade Road, Augusta, ME 04330.
As of this writing we are supposed to be getting a nice snowstorm on Tuesday through Wednesday -- six to 10 inches. Hopefully it doesn't turn over to rain like they are thinking. The skiers will be glad for more powder!
Enjoy the weekend.
