Judith Grover Tent 17 DUVCW met on Monday, Aug. 12 at the Grange Hall. A 6 p.m. picnic supper was enjoyed. A few members of Tent 8, Norway, Tent 19, Stoneham and two Sons of Veterans (SUVCW) joined us. No meeting was held, but a flag disposal ceremony was held following the picnic. Next meeting is Sept. 9. There will be a reception for Dept. President Elsie Bonney at the Grange Hall on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15, Morning Worship at 10:30, Evening Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at 6:30 is Mid-Week Service.
I was sorry to hear of the death of Betty Lord. She and Roland were longtime residents of the area. Sympathy is extended to her son and all her family.
The Woodstock Fire Dept. held their family picnic at Tom Hartford’s on Wednesday evening. There was a lot of delicious food, plus a pretty anniversary cake for Ken and me. It was a very enjoyable time.
On Sunday, Marybeth Hoover and T.J. Ray were dinner guests of her grandparents, Ken and Alice Hoyt. On Wednesday, Joseph and Maggie Hoyt visited their grandparents, Ken and Alice Hoyt and parents, Jim and Charlene Hoyt. Maggie stayed until Friday.
