Brrrr, it sure has been cold again these past few days. In Germany we have the saying that the month of April will just do what it wants. It seems to me all the winter months will do what they want here.
This week we can wish a Happy Birthday to John Coolidge. Happy 61st on March 2 and many more to come, John!
A belated welcome to the neighborhood is in order for John and Susan Wight. They are on their third year in East Bethel after having lived in Bethel proper for 28 years.
I have some more input for our "cabin fever buster" survey to share with you -- "when the robins come back and skunks are roaming around," "the sound of chickadees and the smell of skunk," "when the snow starts to melt," "when the ice falls off the ledges of Goss Mountain," "sitting in a lawn chair with coat on in 40 degree weather and enjoying the sun," "the willows start to show a bit of yellow and the birches are showing a tinge of red, the skunks come out, the frost heave/bump signs are posted."
Last week baseball was one of the most common answers, yet this week the skunks sure have the lead. Please, do keep your answers coming by calling me at 824-3220 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is also time for the new Trivia question. On March 7,1968 a person was in the East Bethel news. What was her name and what had happened?
This is a tougher one for a change again. I am looking forward to the answers.
