The snow that fell last week was enough to bring out the State crew on Route 2. It was sort of slushy and after an hour or so the rain came and washed it all away.
Route 2 is now paved all the way to Bethel.
some of it is just a first layer and there is still more work to be done.
My brother, Steve McLain, stopped by last Saturday. He has been busy getting his plow truck ready for this winter.
Lise McLain went to Ledgeview to visit her father, Gerard Dupont, this past week.
Hugh and I went to a birthday party at Tim and Michele’s this past weekend for our grandson, William. William turned 10 years old on Nov. 6. Also, at the party were our other grandchildren, Annie, Ajay and Sidney, and Michele’s parents, Leo and Ann Croteau.
Aline Dupont visited her father, Gerard Dupont, at Ledgeview and then took him out to dinner at Crosstones Saturday evening.
The Gilead Fire Department was called out last Saturday to assist in a rescue of an injured person on the Wheeler Brook Trail.
Several members of the GFD and town officials, along with their spouses, attended the Portland Natural Gas Transmission System liaison dinner last week. It was held at the Gorham, N.H., fire station.
