Another week has gone by and so has another month. Snow, sleet and freezing rain kind of ruled the last few weeks. It is mostly a quiet time. A lot of folks don’t like to venture out on the icy, hillside driveways. Sometimes, if you go down over the hill there is a good chance of not getting back up. But the fuel trucks seem to make it up the hills with their valuable loads of oil or propane for delivery, and it is such an easy way to quickly empty your wallet.

“Caring for Your Heart,” a special program for American Heart Month, will be presented by Daniel E. van Buren, M.D., Board Certified Cardiologist, on Thursday, Feb. 9 (snow date Feb. 16), at the Bethel Congregational Church, 32 Church Street, Bethel, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Dr. van Buren will discuss heart disease, prevention, symptoms, treatment options and new developments.
