"Hasty pudding" is heard about and sung about this time of year. In a very old recipe book, I found that it was made from cornmeal mush, boiled till thick, cooled, sliced, fried, and properly doused with molasses. Are you going to try some this year from a similar recipe?
The Christmas program was well attended. Jacob and Andrew Coulombe entertained us with their trumpets. Lexie-ann Hart played her violin and Bridgette Hart played her viola. Jennifer and Caitlin Casey, Lotty Casko, Andrew and Jacob Coulombe and Keona Bouchard presented a delightful play entitled "Christmas Lights." Cameron Bouchard worked on the set and behind the scene. Santa Claus was wonderful! He had stockings and gifts for all the children and stayed for most of our party. The kids gathered together many snacks to sustain him on his trip. Jes Bernier, ordinarily terrified of the jolly ole' fellow, offered him a candy cane! Ladies Aid members passed out baskets to the seniors. The Bingo games were fun as well.
Sympathies and prayers are extended to Sue and Dick Angevine in the passing of his aunt.
Upton is blessed with about 7-8 inches of snow which was delivered in a couple different storms. Joe Bernier found that northern Maine was blessed with much more than that when he took a trip to Millinocket this week.
Hope you have a wonderful week. Selah
