As of Monday morning, our snow, which was about nine inches deep, is nearly gone and the mud is back! It's been so warm we haven't had to worry about getting cold feet.
Speaking of cold feet, "back in the day," folks used to sprinkle pepper in their socks. The irritation kept the blood perking down there, which prevented cold feet! If you decide to try this old remedy, let us know if it works!
The Sunday breakfast yesterday was very well attended. Members of the Ladies Aid had been discussing the feasibility of continuing the service since their original plan was to continue as long as they weren't "going in the hole" and they had enough volunteers to cook and serve. It was good to see so many coming both for the food and for the socializing.
New square dance classes start in South Paris on Jan. 5 and on the 12th. It's great exercise (for body and brain) for singles and couples of all ages and a great cure for "empty nest syndrome." Somewhere in Maine there was a private high school which recently made square dancing a math class, but I can't remember who told me that or where it was. Call me at 533-2111 if you want more info.
My co-worker and friend is a new reader to the Bethel Citizen and this column. Welcome, Kelly.
I actually have part of my Christmas shopping done this year and there are still 12 days left! Amazing.
Malcolm, Cody, and Garret McPherson of Rumford came up for a visit last week.
Have a wonderful week. Selah
